It was yet another successful weekend for the Team Aluminos squad at the recent Superkarts! USA ProKart Challenge South event, which was held at the CalSpeed Karting facility in Fontana, CA this past weekend. With the series bringing in some of the best drivers that the West Coast has to offer in shifter and TaG racing, the six Aluminos drivers on hand were up to the challenge, hanging with the finest pilots in their respective classes, highlighted by an outstanding drive by Nicola Galloni in TaG Senior.
In his second event with Team Aluminos, Galloni utilized an Aluminos-prepped GP Kart to run in TaG Senior, putting his entry third in the qualifying session behind two nationally-ranked American pilots. At the start of Heat #1, the Italian fell one spot and remained in fourth for the 12-lap sprint. Trouble would strike in Heat #2 as he would be unable to complete a lap due to contact with another driver. Starting from the rear of both the TaG Senior and TaG Masters field with the DNF, Galloni put on a show by driving to the front of the field. Up to fourth by the halfway mark, Galloni put his efforts on moving into a podium position as third place was in sight. Looking for a way by for a couple of laps, he finally made his move on the final circuit and made it stick to place third.
