Kurt Brunner was born in San Diego and has a Bachelors of Arts degree in Anthropology from San Diego State University. Professionally, he has 30 years of cost estimating experience in high tech engineering environments.  Currently, he is responsible for all Global Positioning Systems Space Vehicle, Operational Control Station and User Equipment cost estimating activities at Tecolote Research, Inc. in Los Angeles supporting the GPS Wing at the U. S. Air Force Space and Missiles Center. His previous experience includes costing all lifecycle phases of electronic warfare/countermeasure systems, strategic weapons systems, launch vehicles, aircraft, and many other programs and products. He has developed several contractor in-house estimating tools, parametric cost models, and Department of Defense certified pricing systems. Kurt holds professional certifications in several organizations (International Society of Parametric Analysts (ISPA) Certified Parametric Practitioner (CPP) and a Society of Cost Estimating and Analysis (SCEA) Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCE/A)).  He currently is Vice President of the Southern California Chapter of ISPA.

In his free time Kurt is an avid automobile race fan, and driver of racing karts and cars. Among his vehicles are a classic 1969 Porsche 912 and a factory custom 2008 Porsche Cayenne. Some of his racing background includes:
  • 1970 to 1975 - Professional motocross and desert motorcycle racing in California
  • 1994 to 1997 – Skip Barber Formula Ford & Formula Dodge
  • 1994 to 1996 – Jim Hall Kart School Race Series (KT100), 4th overall in 1996 Fall Series
  • 2005 to current – Shifter Karts in TriC & ProKart Challenge/SKUSA, 3rd overall in 2005 in TriC

Off the track, he is a collector of Disney memorabilia and spends much of his time camping with his dogs.
